Privacy notice

JoyProbe is a static site. Every page is a plain file served as it was written; there are no accounts, no forms, no comment fields and no shopping steps. Nothing you type is collected through these pages, because there is nowhere on the site to type anything.

Who is responsible

The JoyProbe editorial desk publishes and operates this site from Ireland. For anything in this notice, write to team@joyprobe.com.

What is actually processed

Two ordinary layers sit under the site, and both keep technical records of the kind every web server keeps:

• the hosting provider writes server logs: the address requested, the time, the response code, the amount of data sent, the browser identification string and the network address of the request;
• Cloudflare, acting as our content delivery network and processor, handles the same traffic: the address requested, the referring page, performance measurements, device and browser type, and the country derived from the network address.

None of this involves cookies from us, and none of it is joined into a profile. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: keeping the site reachable, fast and protected from abuse. Technical records are kept for a short retention period by the providers and are not used for anything else.

What is not processed

There is no analytics package of our own, no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no social plug-in, no push notification service and no automated decision-making. We do not build audience segments and we do not sell or share anything, because there is nothing to sell or share.

Writing to us

E-mail is the only channel we offer. A message you send leaves through your own mail provider and arrives in our mailbox, carrying whatever you chose to put in it: your address, your name if you sign it, and the text itself. We read it, answer where an answer is needed, and keep the thread only while the matter is open.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you may ask for access to your personal data, for correction of anything inaccurate, for erasure, for restriction of processing, for portability where it applies, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where you have given a permission, you may revoke it at any time. Send the request by e-mail and we will handle it within one month.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, Ireland — dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this notice

If the site changes in a way that affects this text, the text changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no archive of earlier versions; the current page is the current position.
